Acquisition request to PIKI libraries

You can use this form to submit acquisition requests for PIKI libraries. This form is intended only for library patrons. We do not consider marketing messages submitted through this form. If you wish to sell a publication, please contact the libraries by email.

Before submitting the acquisition request, please check the online library catalog to ensure the item is not already in the PIKI libraries’ collections. If the work is not in the PIKI libraries, it can also be ordered as an interlibrary loan from elsewhere in Finland. You can browse the collections of other libraries through the national Finna online service.

There is no need to request works by major Finnish publishing houses (WSOY, Tammi, etc.) or other new items sold in Finnish bookstores, as they will be acquired anyway.

All acquisition requests are taken into consideration, but unfortunately, the library cannot acquire all suggested materials. For example, we check the availability and price of the material and assess its demand.

For copyright reasons, only some movies and TV series can be acquired for the library. Depending on the material, the acquisition process may take a long time, even months.

PIKI libraries have joined the municipalities’ joint E-library. Therefore, we no longer acquire new e-book, e-audiobook, and e-magazine licenses ourselves. Acquisition requests for these are submitted through the E-library app.

Note that the person who made the request will not be notified of the acquisition decision, and no reservation is made for the title.
