Use this form to submit an acquisition request for Tampere City Library.

Good to know before making the request

All acquisition requests are considered, but unfortunately the library cannot fulfil all wishes.

There is no need to request works by major Finnish publishing houses (WSOY, Tammi, etc.) or other new items sold in Finnish bookstores, as they will be acquired anyway.

For copyright reasons, not all films and image recordings on the market can be acquired for the library. Also, not all publishing houses provide e-books/e-audiobooks for library distribution.

Before submitting the acquisition request, please check PIKI online library whether the material is already in the library's collections or has been already acquired. You can also ask directly from your own library.

The interlibrary service orders materials from other libraries in Finland or abroad. The collections of other libraries can be explored in the national Finna online service.

Notifications and reservations

The library receives hundreds of requests per month. It is not possible to notify the proposer whether the material will be acquired or not. No reservations are made either.

As soon as the material is ordered it will be available for reservations in the online library.
